My name is Sydney Friesen. I am a Certified Athletic Therapist with a specialty in Perinatal and Pelvic Therapy. I am also a Certified Post Natal Fitness Specialist and First Responder, and now, a new mom! I graduated from Sheridan College in 2020 with a Honours Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy). I went on to complete 40+ hours of additional pelvic studies as well as a 4 month Post Natal Fitness Specialist course and most recently, a 4 week birth prep course.

I take a whole-body approach to therapy and put a big emphasis on functional movements. The more functionally we can move, the more efficient our body can be, which ultimately means we have less compensations and dysfunctions. I am not an internal therapist, so everything I do is with external palpations and watching your body move.

Aside from typical athletic therapy, I help women prep for birth, through their rehabilitation after delivery, address symptoms years after delivery, and modify their exercise at any point in between. On a regular basis, I treat dysfunctions such as: incontinence (leaking of urine or feces), diastasis recti, dyspareunia (pain with sex), constipation, symphysis pubis dysfunction, pelvic pain/pressure, prolapse, scar tissue restrictions, muscle imbalances, core muscle weakness, and more!
